Dialog

Listen

After the long trip to the countryside, Jenny and Craig are finally at Jenny’s house. It is a beautiful and peaceful big farm near a small town. There is a red barn and lots of animals! The sun is shining and there are no clouds in the sky. Craig is surprised and doesn’t know what to say.

Jenny: So, what do you think?

Craig: Is it always this peaceful? There are so many animals and it is very quiet.

Jenny: Well, it is a big farm! It is always this quiet and relaxing. I love living here. As a teenager, I dreamed of living in a city but now I love it here! I have grown up here.

Craig: So, what are the pros and cons of living in the countryside?

Jenny: I like the peace and quiet, the animals and the freedom! I don’t like all the work! I have to protect the environment, recycle and take care of the farm animals and the wild animals. See that big forest over there? The wild animals have always lived that close to me.

Craig: Of course! You have lived among wild animals like deer and squirrels all your life.

Jenny: Would you like to see them? They have lived here longer than humans.

Jenny takes Craig to the edge of the forest. There are big trees, birds singing and they can hear howling. Craig is very scared but Jenny is laughing.

Craig: Is that... is that a wolf?

Jenny: No, silly! There are no wolves in these parts! It is just my brother howling in the forest! When he was younger, he had a nice tree house in the forest and he still goes to the woods sometimes. The tree house no longer exists because he started a fire in it. It didn’t end well...
